Important Stage Rehearsal Info at the High Point Theatre – Thursday, June 13 & Friday, June 14:

— EVERYONE, Please arrive ON TIME for your first dance listed below at stage rehearsal, and dressed in DANCE CLOTHES (not costumes). Please leave your house early to account for any traffic or unexpected things that may occur on both rehearsal evenings and recital days. We cannot wait on people that are running late because it will throw off our already very tight schedule.

— When you arrive for STAGE REHEARSAL, come through the front doors of the theatre and straight to the auditorium with your dance bag and take a seat with the rest of your class. We will call each class up on the stage when it is time to practice, so make sure while you are waiting that you get the correct shoes on and ready. Parents are allowed to sit and watch in the auditorium with your students. Other classes will be practicing, so please be mindful and keep noise and conversations to a minimum.

— When you arrive for your scheduled recital SHOW on recital day (FRIDAY SHOW = 1 hour before your show & SATURDAY SHOWS = 45 mins before your show for dancers) please enter through the front doors and from there, helpers will guide you to the correct dressing room area to drop off your student. Their dressing area is where you will also pick up your student at the end of the show. Every student under the age of 10 must be signed in and out for safety, and no one can leave their dressing room area until the show is over in its entirety.

— Please remember that DRESS REHEARSAL in COSTUME is the week of June 3 through June 7 during class time at your dance studio campus. Have your student come dressed in their costume that week (students that take a combo class/multiple styles during one class time, please come dressed in your BALLET costume. DAC PAC teams only need to bring costumes that have not already been performed in). If you’re in a combo class, make sure to bring all other costumes, shoes and accessories with you. We will change during class and the mirrors will be covered during this week as well for practicing without watching those around us. You do not need to worry about any specific hair or makeup for in-class dress rehearsal, we just need to make sure there aren’t any costume problems or malfunctions while dancing. (SpotTV camera viewing access will be turned off during this week!)

June 3rd through 7th is also awards week and we will invite parents into the dance room at your location the last 5-10 minutes of classes to see a very short and informal awards ceremony. Bring your cameras!

— Please remember that there are NO CLASSES the week of June 10-14. There IS stage rehearsal on Thurs/Fri and our 4 shows on Fri/Sat at the theatre that week.

Please email with any questions: destinationartsoffice@gmail.com

Please remember that recital time is a very busy one, so please try to read all information given and if it doesn’t answer your question, please try to ask anything additional before rehearsal and recital days in order to get the most prompt response. Thanks so much! We can’t wait for you to see your beautiful dancers on stage!

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION FROM THE THEATRE:

Construction on Commerce Ave.

During a project by Andmore to renovate the exterior of the building, East Commerce Avenue between South Wrenn Street and South Hamilton Street will be closed from April 22, 2024, until Oct. 1, 2024. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic throughout the duration of the project. There is also scaffolding on the Commerce Ave. side of the Theatre. There is a walkway in the scaffolding for our patrons to enter our front doors.

We will have one lane of the Mendenhall Transportation Terminal open for our passenger drop-off and limited handicap parking. To access the Terminal, enter on Wrenn St., just before Commerce Ave.

We have off-duty HP PD officers at each of our events. Please check with the officer out front when you arrive for parking information. Please allow extra time when coming to events to allow for delays caused by this construction. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Driving Instructions:

If coming from North Main St., Turn Left on High St. (The light before Commerce) and turn Right on Wrenn. This will allow you to turn left into the Terminal and avoid the Detour.
