Competitive Team Ticket Information

This information is very important. Please read it until the end.

There will be TWO recital shows this year (each around 2 hours long with a short intermission). Recreational students are only in one show. Team members will be in both. The Spring Recital date is Saturday, June 17 and this year it is at the High Point Theatre (220 E. Commerce Avenue, High Point), where Groove Competition was held. Stage rehearsal will be on Friday, June 16 (after school hours), with specific times for each class TBA. You will not be needed for the whole duration of stage rehearsal.

2pm Show (Rec Show):
All recreational dancers/classes (including competitive team) EXCEPT Monday acro

6pm Show (Team Show):
All competitive team dances/classes only EXCEPT Wednesday Tween/Intermediate Ballet

TICKET INFORMATION:
Remember, with your paid recital venue fee you receive 2 free tickets per dance/gymnastics student. Tickets go on pre-sale on Friday, March 31 at 12pm to DAC students only. They go on sale to the general public on April 15. To claim your free tickets, call the High Point Theatre box office at 336-887-3001 (or visit the box office in person) and give your student’s name(s) and the pre-sale code “DAC2017”. You cannot share this pre-sale code with non-students. This is to ensure that everyone has a chance to claim their seats before they go on sale to the general public. The box office is open M-F 12:00-5:00pm. Additional tickets are $12 each. Seating is reserved, so if you need additional tickets that you want to be seated together, I would purchase them all at the same time when redeeming your free tickets. The box-office staff will help you pick the best available seats. They will not open up the balcony seating until the main level is nearing full. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.highpointtheatre.com, but the theatre tacks on an extra online ticketing fee. Free tickets CANNOT be redeemed online. Tickets are needed for anyone (despite age) entering the theatre. Children under age 2 are free, but will still need a $0 “lap baby” ticket, and must stay on a lap for the duration of the show. Students in the recital & backstage volunteers DO NOT need a ticket, and must stay backstage for the duration of the show. All tickets are purchased through the High Point Theatre only. NO TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED IN STUDIO.

EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE GIVEN 2 FREE TICKETS PER CHILD, YOU HAVE TO CALL AND CLAIM THEM AND RESERVE YOUR SEATS. THEY ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY RESERVED FOR YOU, AND THE LONGER YOU WAIT, THE FARTHER BACK YOUR SEATS WILL PROBABLY BE.

You can sign up to be a backstage volunteer here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4da5a72aabfe3-recital1

**VERY IMPORTANT**
All team members can only redeem their free tickets for the 6pm team show. If you have a sibling that’s only in the 2pm show, then you also have 2 free tickets for that show. But, if you do not have a sibling or family member in the 2pm show, you will need to use your free tickets for the 6pm show, sign up to be a backstage mom at the 2pm show (to watch from the wings backstage), or wait until closer to the show date to buy tickets for that show once we know that seats are still available and all free tickets have been redeemed. Otherwise, there will not be enough seats for everyone. (EXCEPTION: If you are in Monday recreational hip hop, Wednesday tween/intermediate ballet, or Thursday acro you are able to buy tickets to the 2pm show when they go on sale, using the pre-sale code. All other dances will be in the 6pm show, as explained below, so the majority of families will not need to watch or attend both shows. We need to keep as many seats available at 2pm as possible, because this show will sell out.)

All competition group routines, solos, duet/trios, etc. as well as team recital dances will be in the 6pm show. A few dances will also be in the 2pm show so that our recreational students can see a little bit of our team. THE ONLY TEAM ROUTINE THAT WON’T BE IN THE 6PM SHOW IS WEDNESDAY TWEEN/INTERMEDIATE BALLET, because there are some recreational students also in the class. Monday hip hop is only in the 2pm show because it is a recreational class. If you are in Thursday recreational acro instead of Monday team acro, the Thursday acro class will also only be in the 2pm show.
